discussion 2 with Luke

Today we re-pitched the idea we had chosen to Luke. We discussed the idea in greater depth from a filming point of view. From this discussion, we realised that the idea was complicated to execute well, we needed to as a group rethink how this going to be filmed as an opening title sequence. We pitched ideas such as instead of flashing back and forward between the workmen and the girl we cut straight to the family arriving and looking around the house and as they are looking in different rooms we get flashes of what happened to the girl in these rooms. Another idea we were considering was to have a real estate agent showing people around the house and having the flashes back and forward from the rooms. We discussed the idea of it being in the same style as se7en as previously mentioned however it was getting confusing and the idea was not seeming anything like the opening title sequence of se7en so, therefore, we dropped this idea. As a group, we decided that our opening shot should still be an establishing shot of the building of Peaslkae house as this sets the scene of the location they are in as the building is very similar to that of an old asylum. We spoke about another concept as well, we discussed if whether we could do it so that it is in the style of an online video call where things happen in the background of the people talking however we as a group were not very fond of this idea as we believed it takes away from the motion we originally planned. We decided to move the idea to be shot inside the house as there is more potential for having clean cuts, to show past and present, we were fond of this idea and decided to base our storyboard with the idea that we go inside the building. We were a bit stumped after this discussion and needed some time to rethink how to shoot a better opening title sequence we were suggested to go watch The Shinning. After the discussion, I went and viewed the shinning and was inspired by the scene where the boy goes down the hall and sees the twins, I believe with our idea we could incorporate a shot like this.
